What cookies are
Small text files your browser stores on your device. Some are required for a site to work at all (they're called strictly necessary), others remember preferences or count visitors. The banner you saw on the homepage only appears once because a cookie remembers you dismissed it.
What we use
- cr_cookie_ok (localStorage): remembers you accepted the cookie notice. Lasts until you clear your browser data.
- Session preferences: keeps the mobile menu and forms behaving as expected during your visit. Gone when you close the tab.
- Analytics cookies: anonymised page-view counting so we know whether anyone reads the blog. IP addresses are anonymised and nothing is linked to you personally.
That's the complete list. If we ever add anything else, this page gets updated.
Analytics
We use standard privacy-respecting analytics: which pages get viewed, rough visit duration, what country the visitor's in. No names, no emails, no fingerprinting, no sale of data to anyone. It's how we know the waterproofing article is our best-performing page.
Switching them off
Your browser can block or delete cookies entirely, every modern browser has it in the settings under Privacy. Blocking everything won't break the site (the forms and navigation still work), but the cookie banner will say hello every visit since it can't remember you answered.
Questions about any of this? casinnyrepairs@gmail.com: the privacy policy at /privacy/ covers the bigger picture.
GDPR & your information
Although we operate in Australia, we apply GDPR-standard data rights to every client, request a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely. Email us and we action it within 30 days.
- Access: a copy of every piece of data we hold about you
- Correction: fix anything we've got wrong
- Deletion: wipe your details once the job and warranty period end
- Portability: your data in a readable format if you want it elsewhere

Legal pages are supposed to be read, not just linked to. If any of this doesn't make sense, ask: we'd rather explain it now than argue about it later. Reach us on +61 3 9017 4428 or casinnyrepairs@gmail.com, or use the contact page.
