01 · The service

The trade apartment owners forget until they need it

Every renovation touches electrical, but most unit owners only think about it when they want a pendant over the dining table or the power points are in the wrong decade's position. Rob does our electrical in-house, which means no waiting on a separate sparky to turn up between the plasterer and the painter.

The jobs we do most: LED downlight upgrades, extra outlets, ceiling fans (Brisbane apartments need them), dimmers, USB points, and switchboard checks on pre-2000 buildings. All certified, all tested, all photographed before walls close.

Electrical in apartments sometimes needs body corporate sign-off for shared circuits, Lena handles that paperwork free as part of any bigger job.

03 · The process

How a electrical job runs

Short, licensed, certified. Five steps and you're usually done by lunch on day two.

Licensed electrician testing new circuit in apartment switchboard
Rob testing circuits: every job ends with a certificate
1

Circuit check

Rob inspects the switchboard and existing circuits, tells you honestly whether the upgrade you want is a 2-hour job or needs more.

2

Written quote

Per-point pricing in writing. If the body's shared circuits need strata sign-off, we flag it here.

3

Cut & wire

Ceilings cut cleanly, cables run, fittings mounted. Photos of all cabling before the plaster goes back.

4

Patch & test

Ceiling patches made, every point tested, dimmers programmed, fans balanced so they don't wobble at speed three.

5

Certification

You get the electrical safety certificate for your records, the thing your insurer and future buyer actually care about.

Need more than electrical?

Most clients combine two or three services: bundling saves on strip-out and delivery.

05 · Who does the work

Your electrical crew

Rob Ashwell's been a licensed sparky for fourteen years and joined us full-time in 2023 after years of being the subbie we trusted most. He does the wiring, Sam patches the ceiling, and the wall looks like nothing happened.

On bigger renos Rob works inside the same schedule as everyone else, which is why our jobs don't stall waiting for a sparky who's 'definitely coming Thursday'.

06 · Questions

electrical questions we hear weekly

Honest answers: if yours isn't here, call and ask.

Usually no for internal work on your own circuits, points, lights, fans. Shared circuits, common-area work or anything touching the main feed often needs strata sign-off, and we sort that before starting.

If you're still on halogens, yes: they run about 80% cooler and use a fraction of the power, which matters in a Queensland summer. Most clients do the whole unit in one visit for the per-point rate.

Pre-2000 buildings are half our work. We'll inspect first: sometimes it's fine, sometimes the rubber-insulated stuff needs replacing. You'll get an honest assessment, not a scare quote.

Almost always yes: we run cable through the ceiling cavity, patch the access hole and balance the fan. The ceiling gets a small patch that Sam makes invisible.

Yes: switchboard checks, safety switch tests and written reports for property managers. Fixed $280, done inside a week, certificate emailed to you and the agent same day.
