GDPR & your data
The General Data Protection Regulation is an EU law, but we apply its standards to every client because they're simply good data practice. Here's what that means concretely:
- Right of access (Art. 15): request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16): have inaccurate details corrected.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17): have your data deleted once legal retention periods (like the seven-year tax rule) expire.
- Right to portability (Art. 20): receive your data in a structured, readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21): object to any processing beyond what's needed to run your job.
To exercise any of these, email casinnyrepairs@gmail.com with 'GDPR request' in the subject. We respond within 30 days at no charge. The full list of what we collect and why is in the privacy policy.
Our documents
Each legal page covers one topic in plain English:
- Privacy policy: what we collect, where it lives, your rights.
- Terms of service: quotes, payments, warranties, what each side promises.
- Cookie policy: the handful of cookies the site uses and how to turn them off.
- Refunds & cancellations: how deposits, cancellations and warranty claims work.
Disputes
If something goes wrong we want the chance to fix it first, call Dan directly. If we can't resolve it, domestic building disputes in Queensland go through the QBCC dispute resolution process, and contracts are governed by Queensland law.
GDPR & your information
Although we operate in Australia, we apply GDPR-standard data rights to every client, request a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely. Email us and we action it within 30 days.
- Access: a copy of every piece of data we hold about you
- Correction: fix anything we've got wrong
- Deletion: wipe your details once the job and warranty period end
- Portability: your data in a readable format if you want it elsewhere
